A creative home for original fantasy stories, interconnected worlds, RPG adventures, and the ideas behind them.
Every story begins with an idea: a character glimpsed in a moment of crisis, a place carrying the weight of a forgotten history, or a question that refuses to be left unanswered.
Mother Crystal Studios grew from my desire to give those ideas a home—a place where stories, worlds, and adventures can develop together while still becoming creations of their own.
My name is Lewis B. Douglas. I am a fantasy author, worldbuilder, and RPG creator with a lifelong love of imaginative storytelling. Fantasy and science-fiction films, role-playing games, JRPGs, manga, and years spent building adventures around a gaming table have all influenced the way I create.
I often imagine a scene cinematically before writing it. I see movement, atmosphere, expression, and light. I hear the rhythm of a conversation and consider what each person cannot bring themselves to say. From there, I try to translate that imagined scene into prose that allows a reader to experience the world unfolding around them.
The Creative Source
Why Mother Crystal Studios?
Within The Resonance Cycle, the Mother Crystal is the ancient source of Aether—the living energy that sustains creation. That energy travels through the Fey Realm and outward toward many distinct worlds.
The studio follows the same idea. Mother Crystal Studios is the creative source. This website, future publishing platforms, freelance services, and community spaces become the channels through which that creativity travels. Novels, short stories, articles, RPG adventures, and worldbuilding resources can then become worlds of their own in the hands of readers and players.
Some creations will be part of the central history of The Resonance Cycle. Others will explore limited viewpoints, legends, cultures, and incomplete versions of history. RPG adventures will invite players to enter recognizable settings while creating outcomes that belong to their own tables.

What You Will Find Here
The Road Ahead
This studio is beginning with the first world of The Resonance Cycle: a place shaped by an ancient age of cooperation, a catastrophic betrayal, and generations that have forgotten what magic once meant.
As that world develops, I will share more than occasional announcements. The Creator’s Journal will explore the decisions, questions, discoveries, and challenges behind building it.
